This privacy policy applies to the KRAMPUS mobile application ("the app") available on Google Play and the App Store.
Terms of Use
By using KRAMPUS you agree to these terms.
You must not use the app for any illegal purpose, including but not limited to: trespassing on private property, harassment, endangering others, or any activity that violates applicable laws. Route creators are responsible for ensuring their routes and waypoints are placed only in areas where participants are permitted to go. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.
Privacy Policy
1. Data we collect
We collect the following data to provide the service:
Account data
- Anonymous user ID (generated when you start the app)
- Nickname (optional, if you set one)
- Phone number (optional, only if you add it for account recovery)
Location data
- GPS coordinates while you are on a route
- Used to detect when you reach waypoints and to show your position on the map
- Synced to our servers during active sessions only
Route and activity data
- Routes you create (name, description, waypoints)
- Routes you receive via share code
- Completion status, progress, and duration
- Task completions (text answers, multiple-choice responses)
Photos
- For photo tasks: a resized thumbnail is uploaded to our servers. The original stays on your device.
Videos and audio
- Video files: selected locally only; no upload to our servers
- Audio recordings: recorded locally only; no upload to our servers
In-app messages
- Chat messages between route creators and performers (when you choose to send them)
Purchase data
- In-app purchase history (via Google Play / App Store) for map reveal and route tracking features
Advertising
- If the app shows ads: advertising ID and device info may be shared with our ad provider (Google AdMob) for ad delivery. You can opt out of personalized ads in your device settings.
2. Permissions and why we need them

3. How we store and protect your data
- Data is stored in Supabase (EU region)
- Data is encrypted in transit (HTTPS)
- We do not sell your data to third parties

5. Data retention
We retain your data for as long as your account exists and as needed to provide the service. You may request deletion of your data by contacting us.
6. Your rights
- Access: You can view your data in the app (profile, routes, completions)
- Deletion: Contact us to request deletion of your data
- Opt-out of ads: Use your device settings to limit ad tracking
7. Children
KRAMPUS is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13.
8. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top indicates when changes were last made. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance.
